Ok question about wireless internet, what services are best and how do I do it?

My school has free wireless hot spots and this is all nice but it isn’t very fast when I get on it through my laptop. I want something decently fast for when I’m on the go. I have qwest now through our phone services but it is my dad’s and he just shares it with me through his network. So when I leave my house I can’t use it, my question is…what do I do to get wireless internet outside of my house, what service should I purchase, what’s the cheapest and do I need a wireless card if I am sure I have the wireless card built into my computer already. Any help would be great.
I’ll be traveling all over the city with this computer pretty much and if I need to open it up outside of my son’s day care one day I want to be able to do that, so I will need a service with a great distance range.

Hmm go to local starbucks, get T-Mobile hotspot plan (but you don’t have to, you can also buy prepaid as well). Then register, log on and enjoy service

What are some good nintendo wifi hotspots?

McDonald’s, other Fast food restaurants, and Video game stores offer good wifi spots. Places like Barne’s and Noble and Starbucks have AT&T wifi, which require you to pay for internet usage. Wireless internet routers also work.

Protest of T-Mobile Antennas in Windsor Hills/View Park

Windsor Hills/View Park Residents Support and Thank CVS Corporation and CVS Regional Manager, Earle Robinson. Shortly after this picket, Mr. Robinson went to bat for the residents, testifying against T-Mobile and the property owner, Alexander Haagen. After more than 1 1/2 years and 7 hearings, Windsor Hills/View Park Residents Prevailed. see:

Also see: http://www.cloutnow.org/ and sign or endorse the petition to bring back local control to regulate wireless facilities. CLOUT (Coalition for Local Oversight of Utility Technologies – http://www.cloutnow.org/) is a fast growing national coalition formed as a result of this tremendous backlash against the unchecked proliferation of wireless facilities now targeting residential areas and schools, as wireless companies seek to market new wireless services. (fyi: T-Mobile is currently the most aggressive because, unlike the largest wireless carriers -AT&T and Verizon-, they have no wired infrastructure/landlines to compete for market share of customers who buy bundled services. T-Mobile has also been heavily marketing wireless only households with their HotSpot At Home.)

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors also took action June 2nd, calling for Repeal of Federal Cell Tower Health Preemption. You can read their resolution at the www.cloutnow.org site in addition to the LA City School boards resolution regarding cell towers near schools that passed May 26th. Be sure to see letters of endorsements.

Residents across the country have been outraged over the disregard outside telecom companies have for local building and zoning codes, the deceptive and aggressive tactics used by wireless companies to force their way into residential areas, and the fact that many placements of cell towers and related wireless facilities turn out to be unnecessary to serve existing demand or provide public safety benefits. Elected officials should also be informed that 911 calls from cell phones are designed to be picked up by any available carrier as long as the cell phone making the call has a charged battery and even if the contract has expired for that phone. Arguing that more cell towers are needed to ensure 911 service is a red herring used by cell carriers throughout the country to justify their own business plans and marketing goals, while encouraging citizens to give up landlines and the loss of payphones which provide the most reliable public safety benefits. Create A Wifi HotSpot! With a Mac, an Ethernet Connection, and Airport.

How I Make Money Online:
CashCrate.biz

http://failblog.org/2009/06/22/urinal-fail-3/

This video will show you how to make a wireless internet hotspot (basically a wifi zone) with just your mac, an ethernet cord (connected to your modem of course), and airport.

TAKE NOTE: Most mac computers already have airport compatibility on their computers. If you have bought a mac within the last 2 and maybe 3 years, you most likely will have airport compatibility.

Watching this video will help you releive the stress of having to deal with a router (I myslef had trouble using a router).

When you create your hotspot you will be able to use internet on:

*Your iPod Touch (first and second generation (1st gen), and second generation (2nd gen, or 2g) (any ipod touch version for future references))

*Your Sony PSP (includes psp 1000, 2000, and 3000 series (any version of psp, for future references))

*Another computer that has wifi compatibility

***basically anything that supports wireless internet.

Enjoy.

I did not find this out myself, I was lurking around youtube, and found a video.

This is not the video where I found it from, but it is really similar. The video will show you how to do this on MAC, Vista, and XP (Windows Vista, Windows XP)

I did not make the above linked video.

Comments by YouTube users:

“For those who are clueless:

The ethernet cord is what transfers the data from your modem to the computer. The modem is what connects to your ISP to get an internet connection. He is using the built in AirPort Card in his Mac Mini to broadcast the connection.

Hope that helped.”
