Review: PROPORTA Universal Emergency Charger – Travel Kit
Author: admin // Category: PDA Reviews
Proporta’s Universal Emergency Charger Travel Kit includes all you need to keep your iPod, mobile phone, smartphone, PDA, Sony Reader, Nintendo DS Lite, Sony PSP, digital camera etc.) charged and at the ready whilst on the move. This ridiculously handy product charges from any standard USB port and stores an impressive 2500mAH of power meaning that you can recharge your mobile gadget again and again (and again) wherever you are.
Features
- Charge anywhere, recharge anything – standard USB input and output
- Comes with a retractable cable which is compatible with the following inter-changeable connector heads: 1 x Nokia Slim, 1 x Sony Ericsson, 1 x iPod, 1 x Micro USB, 1 x Samsung, 1 x PSP.
- Power indicator LED shows when you’re low on juice
- Impressive 2500mAh storage (recharge your devices and gadgets several times)
- Powerful 5v, 800mA output (enough for even the most power-hungry mobile devices).
When it came down to actually charging, I tested it with Sony Ericcson k750i with 900mAh battery and I was able to get 2 and 3/4 charges from Proporta. As far as iPhone charging I managed to get 1 full charge and then I had problems with the device. So if you need battery for the iPhone it can get risky to use battery which doesn’t want to charge your device when you want. This is like a lottery, but any other device is charged properly with no problems at all.
Tested on; iPhone 3g [ firmware 2.2.1 jailbroken and unjeilbroken], Nokia N70 [ 2 charges ], Sony Ericsson k750i [2 and 3/4 of a charge], Toshiba Camileo HD PRO camcorder [2 charges ]
This device can double and sometimes triple your battery life which is great.

Cons: I have only one but for iPhone guy’s very important. I had problems with charging my iPhone from this unit. Sometimes proporta was charging it and sometimes it didn’t.
Overall: Great product for almost any device which is powered via usb or is on the list of compatible devices.

This video was uploaded from an Android phone. FLIP VIDEO MINO HD review shot with DROID phone camera, the Motorola Verizon Android PDA smart phone. The Flip Video camera, which is made specifically for video, is awesome and has great video quality, a long battery life and comes with its own software for fast editing. The DROID, by comparison, is a phone, PDA, internet browser, etc… but it also has a camera and can shoot video that uploads directly to places like YouTube. So they are very different animals but equally fun to use. The Flip Video HD will hold something like 1.5 – 2 hours of HD quality video (seriously, it does) and the battery lasts all day. It’s awesome.
Motorola Droid review part 4 of 4: CGR reviews the Motorola Droid PDA, smart phone, phaser, ray gun, water bucket, transforming robot, video camera thingy. What final conclusions does Classic Game Room make? Buy a Vectrex. Well, obviously… if you want strictly video you should look elsewhere, perhaps the Flip Video Mino HD is what you’re looking for, but it doesn’t do Internet and direct uploading. If you want a cool PDA that has a variety of neat features like super-interconnectivity with YouTube, Google and Google Maps then check out the Droid from Motorola and Verizon.
