Does anyone know if AT&T Wireless offers ‘free mobile to any other mobile’ calling?

Verizon recently began offering free mobile to any other mobile calling, and Sprint has been offering it for years.

The short answer is yes – AT&T offers this sort of calling feature. It is free as long as you have the $20 unlimited messaging on at least at $39.99 450 minute calling plan, or the $30 unlimited family messaging plan on at least a 700 minute FamilyTalk plan.

How does unlimited mobile to any other mobile work?

As long as you have the appropriate messaging feature on the account, you can make and receive free calls from your AT&T cell phone to any other carrier’s cell phones, as long as the other phone is a domestic US phone number, and your cell phone is calling from within the United States.

What is the result of free mobile to any other mobile calling?

The end result is that your usage of standard calling minutes will decrease. Your anytime minutes will only be used when making calls to or from landline phones to your AT&T mobile phone.

On Faster Business Communications

One important advantage of technology is having faster communications between the two ends. From state of the art cellular telephones that has access to the Internet, to high end video conferencing, businessmen and students alike would now have an easier and faster way to communicate.

Seeing the world as it is today, we can confirm that businesses from all over the world tend to communicate with one another without seeing face to face, all with the help of video conferencing. This type of communication allows businessmen to interact and share ideas and files without seeing each other face to face. This kind of technology helps businesses that cater to the world, with many different locations acting as one. Video conferencing works by simultaneous sharing of information through video, voice, digital white board, and data files. In a set video conference meeting, several individuals can share their voice and see themselves talk with the use of a live camera. The image size seen in the monitor can be compressed to be able to have more space for files that are accessed, displayed, and edited on the monitor at the same time. Businessmen engaging in a video conference have the option to work and share their information from either party’s computer. While changes within a certain project are discussed verbally, individuals may also edit and share their immediate feedback at the same time. Having the advantage of the digital white board, individuals may also write on each other’s white boards to allow professionals to make decisions and solve whatever problems they have on the spot.

Video conferencing showcases a lot of benefits with regards to the business itself. First, by using videoconferencing, businessmen might have easier negotiations with other businesses and/or individuals. By using this new approach, it can also save the company some money since by using such, businessmen would not have to pay for flights, in case meetings are held in another location. These kinds of conferencing can also fast track instructions and deals within the company. Instead of written instructions, one can tell the person doing the job directly what needs to be done. By talking and communicating in real time, different tasks can be done faster and with more precision.

Of course, video conferencing also has its downside. This approach to faster communications may not be too reasonable for smaller businesses. Big companies have the privilege to use this kind of conferencing, simply because the have the budget to do so. Either way, video conferencing is a positive aspect in one’s business, for it can heighten communications within the company, therefore boosting the business itself.

How Can I Find My Stolen iPhone 4?

Stolen iPhone 4 location?

Every owner’s worst nightmare is their precious iPhone 4 being stolen. Something on the order of 90% of ‘lost’ iPhone 4s have actually been taken for either the use of the thief or to be wiped, jailbroken and resold on the black market. The $600 to $700 USD devices can be quickly and easily resold either in the United States or overseas for much more.

How can I recover my stolen iPhone 4?

Apple’s MobileMe service has a feature called ‘Find My Phone’. This service costs $99 per year for a single iPhone, or $149 for a family pack of 3 licenses. However, since MobileMe is way too expensive for what you get out of the cloud-based service, Apple has seen very few sales out of it compared to their extended-warranty product, AppleCare, Apple has made the ‘Find My Phone’ feature of MobileMe free of charge. Any iOs based device running iOs 4.0 or higher can take advantage of ‘Find My Phone’.

How does ‘Find My Phone’ work to find my stolen iPhone 4?

MobileMe works using the IP address of the stolen iPhone 4, along with triangulation of the cellular signal, if available. It will narrow down the location of the stolen iPhone 4 to standard GPS coordinates (approximately a 30 meter radius). The owner of the stolen iPhone 4 logs into www.me.com and enters their Apple ID and password. The owner of the stolen iPhone 4 can then ‘ping’ the phone for its location, have the device make a noise or send a message that will appear on the screen. The owner can then password-lock the stolen iPhone 4 or remotely wipe the device to prevent personal information from falling into the wrong hands.

technically, what is the difference between CDMA and GSM wireless services?

hi i am a electronics and communication engg student and looking for a fundamental , technical answer please help me out plzzzzzzz ……..people tell me the answer for this

CDMA employs spread-spectrum technology and a special coding scheme (where each transmitter is assigned a code) to allow multiple users to be multiplexed over the same physical channel. By contrast, time division multiple access (TDMA) divides access by time, while frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) divides it by frequency. CDMA is a form of "spread-spectrum" signaling, since the modulated coded signal has a much higher data bandwidth than the data being communicated. An analogy to the problem of multiple access is a room (channel) in which people wish to communicate with each other. To avoid confusion, people could take turns speaking (time division), speak at different pitches (frequency division), or speak in different languages (code division). CDMA is analogous to the last example where people speaking the same language can understand each other, but not other people. Similarly, in radio CDMA, each group of users is given a shared code. Many codes occupy the same channel, but only users associated with a particular code can understand each other.

———————-

GSM is a cellular network, which means that mobile phones connect to it by searching for cells in the immediate vicinity. There are five different cell sizes in a GSM network—macro, micro, pico, femto and umbrella cells. The coverage area of each cell varies according to the implementation environment. Macro cells can be regarded as cells where the base station antenna is installed on a mast or a building above average roof top level. Micro cells are cells whose antenna height is under average roof top level; they are typically used in urban areas. Picocells are small cells whose coverage diameter is a few dozen metres; they are mainly used indoors. Femtocells are cells designed for use in residential or small business environments and connect to the service provider’s network via a broadband internet connection. Umbrella cells are used to cover shadowed regions of smaller cells and fill in gaps in coverage between those cells. Cell horizontal radius varies depending on antenna height, antenna gain and propagation conditions from a couple of hundred meters to several tens of kilometres. The longest distance the GSM specification supports in practical use is 35 kilometres (22 mi). There are also several implementations of the concept of an extended cell[12], where the cell radius could be double or even more, depending on the antenna system, the type of terrain and the timing advance.

Indoor coverage is also supported by GSM and may be achieved by using an indoor picocell base station, or an indoor repeater with distributed indoor antennas fed through power splitters, to deliver the radio signals from an antenna outdoors to the separate indoor distributed antenna system. These are typically deployed when a lot of call capacity is needed indoors; for example, in shopping centers or airports. However, this is not a prerequisite, since indoor coverage is also provided by in-building penetration of the radio signals from any nearby cell.

The modulation used in GSM is Gaussian minimum-shift keying (GMSK), a kind of continuous-phase frequency shift keying. In GMSK, the signal to be modulated onto the carrier is first smoothed with a Gaussian low-pass filter prior to being fed to a frequency modulator, which greatly reduces the interference to neighboring channels (adjacent channel interference).

Examination Of Online And Wireless Services

A consumer will not be able to make a true examination of online and wireless services of any cellular telephone service provider until they receive a huge cellular telephone bill that was not in the monthly budget. The branded carrier of the service will typically bill the customer for services and expect prompt payment in less than 30 days. The connectivity rating of online and wireless services will go to zero after one month has passed because the branded carrier will suspend the services with no further warnings or alerts.

An examination of the online and wireless services provided by that wireless service carrier will eventually reveal that the multi-billion dollar corporation that provided these types of services to millions was not interested in continuing the service relationship unless the consumer agreed to pay an additional deposit of $500 before the end of the month. If online and wireless services were suspended for non-payment, then the idiocy of the expectations that the consumer could fund such a large deposit to restore service could mean that the service will remain off forever.

The collection efforts for such an account will be swift and impersonal at first. The multi-billion dollar corporation will charge-off the sum of an overdue cellular telephone bill after 30 days even if the customer has contacted the branded carrier and inquired about the online and wireless payment options. One might think that the online and wireless services could have remained in-house where customer service professionals could help cellular telephone customer’s work a payment plan out that will bring the account current.

Many cellular telephone customers are sorely disappointed to learn that the account has been turned over to a collection agency even though no other late payments were made while the account was active. Many cellular telephone customers agree to a 2-year contract for online and wireless services, and never expect that period of service to lapse because the carrier did not receive instant payment for the online and wireless services that were provided by the billion dollar brand name carrier.

To make matters worse, most cellular customers are fined a $175 deactivation fee on the final bill for the online and wireless services account. The online and wireless service provider made the decision to deactivate all services on the account, but online and wireless customers withstand the worst because they are held responsible for paying those penalties although they still wanted phone service. Telephonic contact with the customer service representative will render very little and contact with a supervisor might seem very superficial.

Online and wireless customers do not get a full range of services that help alleviate payment problems before they escalate to bigger problems. The service concept by certain online and wireless service carriers extends only to the point where the billion-dollar corporation is able to sell the consumer a service. The total customer service concept does not exist with certain carriers because they are more concerned on making a profit than helping cellular customers figure out how to pay a large cellular bill.

Consumers should carefully examine the entire contract for cellular telephone service. Since company policies prohibit the acceptance of bill payments if the $500 deposit has not been made with it, consumers have very few options at their disposal. Consumers could place a four-digit parental control on the text messaging features that would keep the cost down on the cellular telephone bills.

what is the diffrence between wifi and broadband in a pda?

i am looking at the motorola q and it says it supports broadband but a review said that it doesnt have wifi.

WiFi means that the PDA is equipped with a capability of connecting to the wireless networks, for example WiFi routers commonly installed in homes or hotels, etc.
Using WiFi, you don’t user any minutes of data exchanges with the Cell Phone provided internet.

When the PDAs say that Broadband is available, they mean using the Cell Phone providers network you can use the internet to browse at high speeds. Most of the cell phones now a days have broadband EDGE or 3G connection available.
EDGE network is widely available with Cingular for example.
Similarly, Verizon and Sprint have their own version of high speed data transfers available for the cell phone users.

Coming back to WiFi enabled phones. I think they are better as you can use it to connect to your computer at home or work or any wifi network available for free.
This way you are not charged any data rate for browsing. You can browse for unlimited hours without having to pay a penny.

NOTE: ALL THE WiFi enabled phones also support the Broadband as well. I don’t know if any one does not.

So go with phone that has WiFi.

I’ve "Cingualar 8125" It is a great phone and has almost everthing that you can ask for.
Check it out at Cingular or google
