Whats that gray area under PDA screens?

is it there permantly? can you press a button and it dissapears so you have a larger screen?

Grafitti (sp?) pad. For handwriting recognition. You can write letters there and your PDA will recognize them.

The other icons are shortcuts to other functions of the PDA.

    That is the Graffiti writing area. Instead of using an on-screen keyboard you can use that area to input characters, and utililize application shortcuts.

    If you have a Palm OS handheld Ver.4.9 or below, it is the Graffiti screen and cannot be hidden. If it is Ver. 5.0 or higher, it is still the Graffiti screen but CAN be hidden.
